ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS, AMENDING
ORDINANCE NO. 70-15 OF THE CITY SO AS TO AMEND CERTAIN REGULATIONS
IN THE INDUSTRIAL WASTE ORDINANCE;PROVIDING FOR PENALTY NOT TO
EXCEED TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ~$200.00) FOR EACH OFFENSE; AND DECLAR-
ING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WYLIE,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. An Ordinance No. 70-15 of the City of Wylie,
Texas, be, and the same is hereby amended by amending Paragraph 7,
Page 14 of said ordinance which shall hereinafter read as follows,
to-wit:
7. Any any waters having a pH lower than 5.5 or higher than
9.5 or having any corrosive property capable of causing
damage or hazards to structures, equipment or personnel
of the Sewage Works.
SECTION 2. That Ordinance No. 70-15 of the City of
Wylie, Texas, be, and the same is hereby amended by deleting items
11 and 12 on Page 15 of said Ordinance and by adding thereto a
new item 11 which shall hereinafter read as follows, to-wit:
11. Any chromium (total) greater than 5.0 mg/l
SECTION 3. That Ordinance No. 70-15 of the City of
Wylie, Texas, be, and the same is hereby amended by amending items
15, 19, 21, 22 and 24 of Page 15 which items shall hereinafter
read as follows, to-wit:
15. Any cadmium greater than 0.02 mg/l
Any lead greater than 6.1 mg/l
22. Any silver greater than 0.1 mg/l
24. Radioactive wastes. (1) No person may discharge radioactive
wastes or isotopes in the public sewers without the per-
mission of the approving authority. (2) The approving
authority may establish, in compliance with applicable
State and Federal regulations, regulations for discharge
of radioactive wastes into public sewers.
SECTION 4. That Ordinance No. 70-15 of the City of
Wylie, Texas, be, and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto
new items 26 and 2' on Page 15 of said Ordinance which shall read
as follows, to-wit:

~. No other heavy metals or toxic material may be discharged
into public sewers without a permit from the approving
authority specifying conditions of pretreatment, concen-
trations, volumes and other applicable provisions.
7111. Prohibited heavy metals and toxic materials include but
are not limited to: (1) antimony, (2) beryllium,
(3) bismuth, (4) cobalt, (5) molybdenum, (6) tin,
(7) uranyl ion, (8) rhenium, (9) strontium, (10) tellu-
rium, (11) herbicides, (12) fungicides, and (13) pesti-
cides.
SECTION 5. That Ordinance No. 70-15 of the City of Wylie,
Texas, be, and the same is hereby amended by deleting item 19 on
page 15 of said Ordinance.
SECTION 6. Ordinance No. 70-15, City of Wylie, Texas, be,
and the same is hereby amended by amending line four (4) of page 24
which shall hereinafter read as follows, to-wit:

SECTION 7. Any person, firm or corporation violating any
of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a
misdemeanor and shall be subject to a fine not to exceed Two Hundred
Dollars ($200.00) for each offense and each and every day in violation
shall continue shall deemed to constitute a separate offense.
SECTION 8. The fact that Ordinance No. 70-15 regulating
industrial wastes needs to be amended crea~s and urgency and an
emergency and requires that in the preservation of the public health,
safety and welfare that this ordinance shall take effect immediately
from and after its passage and the publication of the caption as
the law in such cases provides.
DULY PASSED by the City Council, City of Wylie, Texas, on
