1956 Ordinance-Prescribing Rates & Charges for Local Water Service Furnished By Wylie
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WYLIE PRESCRIBING RATES
AND CHARGES FOR LOCAL WATER SERVICE FURNISHED BY
THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS
WHEREAS, Councilman R.V. Groves mad a motion
that the water rates charged by the City of Wylie, Collin
County, Texas were not sufficient and that the reat struc-
ture should be revised, said motion being seconded by
Councilmand M.F. Allen, and passed by the City
Council of the City of Wylie; and
WHEREAS, the following schedule of rates will not
produce for said City of Wylie more than a fair return on
the fair value of its property used by the Eater Department
of said City of Wylie;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WYLIE:
Section 1: The City of Wylie shall place in effect
the following schedule of rates for water service on the
first billing date after final passage of this ordinance;
after this ordinance becomes effective in accordance with
the laws of the Stat of Texas:
Minimum Charge $2.50 for 2,000 gallons
Next 5,000 gallons 0.60 per 1,000 gallons
Next 10,000 gallons 0.50 per 1,000 gallons
Section 2: that this ordinance shall become effective
after three separate hearings before the City Council of
the City of Wylie.
Section 3: All ordinances heretofore passed by the
City Council of the City of Wylie establishing rates and
charges for water service are hereby repealed.

Section 4:
Nothing in this ordinance contained
shall be construed now or hereafter as limiting or
modifying in any manner, the right and power of the
City under law to regulate the rates and charges for
water service furnished by the City of
Wylie.
