ORDINANCE NO. 77-7
AN ORDINANCE AMENDIN:; SECTION 18-b-1 OF ORDINANCE # 72-3 AND
REPEALIN:; ORDINANCE # 74-16 OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, ESTABLISHIN:;
SERVICE FEE FOR USE OF THE CITY LANDFILL7 SETTING A PENALTY
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS:
1. License and Fees Required.
No person except the duly authorized agents and employees of
the City shall empty garbage cans or trash receptacles into
or conveyor transport garbage or trash to any landfill
owned or maintained by the City without fulfilling the
following requirements:
(A) All non-commercial residents of the City may dump
at no charge upon presentation of the current
months water bill or receipt of deposit for water service,
or pay according to the schedule set forth in Section
1-C of this Ordinance.
(B) All resident commercial users of the landfill will
be required to pay a fee of 359 per cubic yard.
(C) All non-residents and commercially hired haulers
wishing to use the City Landfill will be required
to pay according to the following schedule:
per trash receptacles
40 gallons or less -- $2.00
41 gallons or more -- $3.00
per pickup (no sideboards) $6.00
Commercially hired haulers and vehicles
larger than pickups $25.00 per month
plus $1.00 per cubic yard.
(D) All non-residents who deposit Junk (Refrigerators, stove,
air conditioner, etc.) will be required to pay $3.00
per article.
2.
Any person, firm or corporation or other entity who violates
any provisions of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of
a misdemeanor and upon conviction of any such violation,
shall be subject to a fine of not less than one dollar ($1.00)
nor more than two hundred dollars ($200.00).
3.
The fact that the collection and disposal of trash, garbage,
and rubbish is essential to the public health, safety, and
welfare creates an emergency and requires that this ordinance
take effect immediately after its passage.
