Ordinance 1984-42 ORDINANCE NO. ,~~~ AN ORDINANCE CREATING A HO~1E RULE CHARTER COMMITTEE TO CREATE AND RECOMMEND TO THE CITY COUNCIL AND THE CITIZENS OF WYLIE A HOME RULE CHARTER FOR THE CITY OF WYLIE: SECTION 1: A Home Rule Charter Committee is hereby established and created. SECTION 2: The Home Rule Charter Committee shall consist of the following persons: C. Truett Smith, Jerry Davis, James Blakey, Carol Barry, Judy Trimble, Richard Sewell, John Seeley, Jayne Chapman, Perry Robinson, Ray Mullins, Joe George, Dewayne Boyd, Carey Gooch, Roy Randolph and Dennis Kauffman. Each member shall be a resident citizen and a qualified voter of the City of Wylie, and shall be appointed by the Mayor and City Council. SECTION 3: The duties of the Home Rule Charter Committee shall be to establish and create a Home Rule Charter for the City of Wylie, which shall be brought to the residents of the City of Wylie for final approval by vote. SECTION 4: Establish position of chairman and the naming of Mr. C. Truett Smith as chairman of this committee, and who in that position is charged with the responsibility of calling meetings and compiling a final draft of the proposed City Charter for presentation to the Council and the electives. SECTION 5: Publication shall be made one time in the official publication of the City of Wylie, which publication shall contain the caption stating in substance the purpose of the Ordinance.
