Ordinance 1987-52 ORDINANCE NO. ~)7-~~ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, A HOME RULE POLITICAL SUBDIVISION OF THE STATE OF TEXAS, ESTABLISHING CERTAIN TIMES FOR SCHOOL ZONES WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WYLIE: PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY, PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION OF THE CAPTION; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING A REPEALING CLAUSE AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE: WHEREAS: The City Council has determined that the present ordinance designating times for school zones are antiquated and in need of updating to comply with State regulations, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT SECTION 1: The times for the school zones be set as follows: MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL 7:30 A. M. - 8:30 A. M. 2:30 P. M. - 4:30 P. M. ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS 7:30 A. M. 8:30 A. M. 11:00 A. M. - 12:30 P. M. 2:30 P. M. 4:30 P. M. SECTION 2: REPEALING CLAUSE That all ordinances of the City in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be, and the same are hereby, repealed and all other ordinances of the City not in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3: SEVERABILITY CLAUSE Should any paragraph, sentence, subdivision, clause, phrase or section of this ordinance be adjudged or held to be unconstitutional, illegal or invalid, the same shall not affect the validity of this ordinance as a whole or any part or provision thereof other than the part so decided to be invalid, illegal or unconstitutional and shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance. SECTION 4: PENALTY Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions or terms of this ordinance shall be subject to a fine not to exceed the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for each offense, and each day such violation shall continue to exist shall constitute a separate offense. SECTION 5: PUBLICATION CLAUSE This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage and publication of its caption, as the law in such cases provides.
