CALL TO ORDER
Announce the presence of a Quorum.
The meeting was called to order by Arts Coordinator Carole Ehrlich at 6:01 pm.Members present included:
Anita Jones (citizen), Gloria Suarez (Parks Board member), Cheryl Mabry (artist), Joshua Smith (Wylie
Citizen)and Pat Bentine(artist). Steve Shank(board member)was absent.
DISCUSSION ITEMS
1. Discussion regarding Art for the Municipal Complex Walking Trails Entry.
Panel Discussion
Total submissions were 76 for the walking trails entry, call for artists. The board had ranked artist and
now had 24 remaining artists to discuss. The panel reviewed each artist and narrowed the submissions to
16. The panel then reviewed and discussed and determined unanimously the three semi-final artists. The
discussion by the panel included material used, sustainability, appropriateness to the site and quality of
previous art work submitted.
Semi-final artists included: Katy Antill and Madeline Weiner and Eileen Gay. These artists will be
notified and asked to travel to the City to view the site, see previous art installations, and receive input
from the public at an open meeting to be held on July 20,2022 at 6:00 pm.
