Ordinance 1965-01 ANNEXING ORDINANCE ~ 5' - / AN ORDINANCE N~NEXING THE HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED TERRI- TORY TO THE CITY OF WYLIE, COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, AND EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF SAID CITY SO AS TO INCLUDE SAID HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS, AND GRANTING TO SAID TERRITORY AND TO ALL FUTURE INHABITANTS OF SAID PROPERTY ALL OF THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS AND BINDING SAID FUTURE INHABITANTS BY ALL OF THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY. WHEREAS, a petition for annexation has been duly signed and acknowledged by each and every person or corporation having an interest in the following described territory, to-wit: . I.EAC.T. ~N'O~ . 'l':... \All that certain lot, tract or parcel of land, sifuated in Collin County, Texas, in the A. Atterberry Survey, Abstract No. 23, adjoining the City of Wylie, and being part of a tract of 62.26 acres called Tract IV in deed from Roy Hall et al to Nathan Eldridge et ux, dated May 31, 1957, and recorded in Vol. 529, Page 515, Collin County Deed Records. BEGINNING at an iron stake in the South line of a 15 foot alley in the Eldridge Addition from which the Northeast corner of said 62.26 acres bears East 409.0 feet and North 1/2 deg. West 180.0 feet; THENCE East 208.7 feet to a point in the South line of the above said alley; THENCE South 1/2 deg. East 208.7 feet to a point; THENCE West 208.7 feet to a point in the Southward extension of the east line of Thomas Street; THENCE North 1/2 deg. West, with the extension of the east line of Thomas Street, 208.7 feet to the place of beginning, containing 1.000 acre of land. TRACT NO.2: SITUATED in Collin County, Texas, and being a part of the Francisco de la Pin a Survey and being out of a 65 acre tract conveyed to Lee Kirby by W. H. Brigham and F. C. Brigham by deed as recorded in Volume 203 at Page 263 of the Deed Records of Collin County, Texas, and being more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at a highway marker set at the intersec- tion of Countv Road with Farm Market Road 544 said point being 40 feet East of a tract of land being known as Wylwood Estates on preliminary plat to the City of Wylie, Texas; THENCE South 44 deg. 05 min. East with ROW of Farm Road 544, 43 feet to highway marker for corner; THENCE South 89 deg. 05 min. East with ROW of said Farm Road 544, 384.60 feet to iron stake set in ROW for corner; THENCE North 0 deg. 55 min. East, 348 feet to iron stake for corner; . THENCE North 89 deg. 5 min. West, 415 feet to an iron stake set on East line of County road for corner; THENCE South 0 deg. 55 min. West with the East Line of said County Road 317.60 feet to place of beginning and containing 3.305 acres of land. WHEREAS, said tracts of land are contiguous and adjacent to the City of Wylie, Texas, and are not more than one-half (1/2) mile in width, and WHEREAS, a petition for Tract 1 was presented to the City I rJl! 1- Ar- Council on the oJ Clay of c;::;( i/f -' , 1965, and a petition for Tract 2 was presented to the City Council on the ~~~day of ;11}---- , 1965, such dates being not less than five (5) and cA - not more than thirty (30) days from the date hereof, and WHEREAS, on the 18th day of February, 1965, notice of public hearing to be held on March 9, 1965, at 7:00 p.m. at the City Hall, Wylie, Texas, was published in the Wylie News, the official newspaper of the City of Wylie; and WHEREAS, after hearing such petitions and the arguments for and against the same the City Council has voted to grant such petitions and to annex said territory to the City of Wylie, Texas; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS: That the following described property, to-wit: TRACT NO.1: All that certain lot, tract or parcel of land, situated in Collin County, Texas, in the A. West with the East Line of said County Road 317.60 feet to place of beginning and containing 3.305 acres of land. be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Wylie, Collin County, Texas, and that the boundary limits of the City of Wylie, Texas, be and the same are hereby extended to include the above described territory within the City Limits of the City of Wylie, Texas, and the same shall hereafter be included within the territorial limits of said city, and said land and the future inhabitants thereof shall hereafter be entitled to all rights and privileges of other citizens of the City of Wylie, Texas, and shall be bound by the acts and ordinances of said city. The City Clerk lS hereby directed to file with the County Clerk of Collin County, Texas, a certified copy of this ordinance.
