Members of the public must fill out a form prior to the meeting in order to speak.Board requests that comments be limited to three minutes for an individual, six minutes for a group.In addition,Board is not allowed to converse, deliberate or take action on any matter presented during citizen participation. DISCUSSION ITEMS DS1. Discussion regarding the Overview of the recent Bluegrass on Ballard event. The board will discuss any changes for next year and review profit from the event. DS2. Update regarding the 2023/24 Call for Artists for the Municipal Walking Trails DS3. Discussion regarding the 2023 Wylie Arts Festival event on December 2, 2023. The board will discuss applications received in the month of July and the appointment of a 3 member panel to review the applications received. DS4. Discussion regarding the material and design for the promotional items for the Wylie Art Advisory Board. The board will also discuss cost for the items. These booth items will be used for the events to bring attention to public art for the City. REGULAR AGENDA 1. Consider and act upon, the Public Arts Advisor Board minutes from June 15, 2023 2. Consider and act upon, a three member panel to review all Wylie Arts Festival applications. The board will discuss and take volunteers to serve on the review panel for the 2023 Wylie Arts Festival. 3. Consider and act upon a Public Arts Advisory Board Chair for 2023-2024 4. Consider and act upon a vice chair for the Public Arts Advisory Board for 2023-24. VAJ Public Arts Advisory Board CITY OF Minutes WYLIE Regular Meeting June 15, 2023—6:00 p.m. Council Chambers 300 Country Club Road, Bldg. 100 Wylie, TX 75098 CALL TO ORDER Announce the presence of a Quorum. The meeting was called to order by board member Null at 6:00 pm. Members present included: John Treadwell, Christina Null,Anita Jones, Steve Shank,Esther Bellah, and Minerva Bediako. Board member Joseph Murdock was absent. PAAB Coordinator Carole Ehrlich was also in attendance. Gloria Suarez new member starting in July was also present. CITIZENS COMMENTS ON NON-AGENDA ITEMS Residents may address the Board regarding an item that is not listed on the Agenda. Residents must fill out a non- agenda form prior to the meeting in order to speak The Board requests that comments be limited to three(3)minutes. In addition, the Board is not allowed to converse, deliberate, or take action on any matter presented during citizen participation. No citizens were present to address the board. DISCUSSION ITEMS 1. Discussion regarding the 2023 Bluegrass on Ballard Event scheduled for June 24,2023 Staff Board Discussion PAC Ehrlich reported there were 150 food vendors and craft vendors for the event. She asked that everyone arrive at 6:00 am Saturday to help vendors load in. Board members Treadwell volunteered to bring water and an ice chest,board member Null volunteered to bring coffee and cream and board member Jones volunteered to bring donuts for the ROTC students assisting and other volunteers, Ehrlich asked that board members Treadwell, Bediako, and Shank take the three loading in areas to direct vendors. Discussion and update regarding the Call for Artists for the Walking Trails 2023-24 PAC Ehrlich reported that the total submissions were 38 for the two sites. She noted that the panel had ranked the artists and there were now 17 for further consideration She reported the panel would meet later to narrow the artists to 3-4 semi-finalists. REGULAR AGENDA 1. Consider and act upon the minutes from May 18, 2023. (C Ehrlich, Public Arts Advisory Board Coordinator) PAC Ehrlich reported that there was a typo in the agenda and the minute date was incorrect but the correct minutes for May 18, 2023 were included in the packet. Board Action A motion was made by board member Treadwell, seconded by board member Jones to approve the Public Arts Advisory Board minutes from May 18, 2023 as presented. A vote was taken and the motion passed 6-0 with board member Murdock absent. The board said Farwell to two members serving their last meeting. Minerva Bediako and Christina Null. They thanked them for their service. ADJOURNMENT Board Action A motion was made by board member Treadwell, seconded by board member Null to adjourn the meeting at 6:30 p.m. A vote was taken and the motion carried 6-0 with board member Murdock absent.
