In addition, Board is not allowed to converse, deliberate or take action on any matter presented during citizen participation. DISCUSSION ITEMS DS 1. Discussion regarding the number of vendors and other logistical items will be discussed regarding the 2023 Wylie Arts Festival DS2. The 2023-2024 Selection Panel for the Walking Trails art projects will meet to review the ranking of artists on Cafe' (Call for Entries). They will recommend 3-4 artists to the Public Arts Advisory Board for consideration and possible action. . _u........................ Discussion and review of the Collin Community College art designs. Collin Community College art students have created designs for three intersection signal boxes. These boxes are located at Brown Street and Country Club Road, Collin Way and Country Club Road, and Ballard Street and SH 78. The board will review the designs and the recommendations made by the Sginal Box Selection Panel for 2023. Final approval will be during business items. REGULAR AGENDA ......... Total funds for the projects will not exceed $600 and will be deposited into the Art Excellence Fund, Collin College for education scholarships for the finalists A motion to approve , , and as the final artists to recommend to the Wylie City Council for three boxes located at Brown Street and Country Club Road, Collin Way and Country Club Road and Ballard Street and SH 78. Payment to Collin Community College Excellence Fund will not exceed $600. Consider and act upon, a recommendation to the Wylie City Council for three artist designs created by Collin Community College, Wylie Campus Art Students. These three designs will be fabricated on three signal boxes located at Brown Street and Country Club, Collin Way and Country Club Road, and Ballard Street and SH 78. The amount to be deposited into the Art Excellence Fund of Collin Community College will not exceed $600. The funds will be distribution to the three winners at $200 each to be used for education. Public Arts Advisory Board Minutes Regular Meeting October 19, 2023 — 6:00 p.m. Council Chambers 300 Country Club Road, Bldg. 100 Wylie, TX 75098 CALL TO ORDER Announce the presence of a Quorum. The meeting was called to order by Chair Bellah at 6:10 pm. Members present included: Gloria Suarez, John Treadwell, Cassie Dyson, Joseph Murdock, and Anita Jones. Steve Shank was absent. PAAB Coordinator Carole Ehrlich was also in attendance. CITIZENS COMMENTS ON NON -AGENDA ITEMS Residents may address the Board regarding an item that is not listed on the Agenda. Residents must fill out a non - agenda form prior to the meeting in order to speak. The Board requests that comments be limited to three (3) minutes. In addition, the Board is not allowed to converse, deliberate, or take action on any matter presented during citizen participation. No citizens were present to address the board. DISCUSSION ITEMS 1. Walking Trails Phase 1 Update (PAC Carole Ehrlich) Board Discussion PAC Ehrlich reported the artist Kay Antill and her husband had visited the site with the base contractor. The Parks staff was also present and laid out the angle for the art piece. The date to begin installation will be mid November 2023. 2. Discussion regarding the update and timeline for the Walking Trails Phase 2 for presentation to the Wylie City Council. Yoshi Wright, artist. (PAC Ehrlich) PAC Ehrlich addressed the board stating that the timeline for completion of the contract and all other items for the City Council agenda will be for the November 14, 2023 Council meeting. She explained that Mr. Wright had completed talks with a Texas Certified Engineer and found that with the mound the Sacred Fire will be installed upon, compacted soils could be used if compacted properly. There would be no need for pillars to hold the art or mound in place. Minutes October 19, 2023 Public Arts Advisory Board Page 1 34 1110812023 Item 2. Timeline for completion of the project will be December 2024 for both art sites. The contract will not exceed $80,000 for both art sites. Ehrlich encouraged all board members to be present for the Council meeting of November 14, 2023. 3. Discussion regarding promotional materials for the board events. (Board member Shank) Board Discussion No board discussion was completed due to the absence of board member Shank due to illness. 4. Update and discussion regarding the 2023 Wylie Arts Festival Board Discussion PAC Ehrlich gave a short report on the number of applicants received for vendor booths. She explained that there were just a few booths left and suggested the selection panel meet at the next meeting to finalize the event. REGULAR AGENDA 1. Consider and act upon, the Public Arts Advisory Board Minutes of September 21.2023 (Carole Ehrlich, Public Arts Advisory Board Coordinator) Hoard Action A motion was made by board member Treadwell, seconded by board member Suarez to approve the Public Arts Advisory Board minutes from September 21, 2023 as presented. A vote was taken and the motion passed 6-0, with board Shank absent. 2. Consider and act upon, the design, cost, and material for a promotional booth to advertise Public Art at all City events (Carole Ehrlich, Public Arts Advisory Board Coordinator) Roa.rd Action A motion was made by board member Treadwell, seconded by board member Jones to table the item until the next regular meeting.
