REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
April 22, 1975
The City Council met in regular session on April 22, 1975, at 7:00 PM
in the City Hall. Present: Mayor Don Thomas, Aldermen R. C. Dodd, Dwayne
Boyd, Stan Shively, William Martin, Kenneth Nall and City Manager Dennis
Woodard.
The Council reviewed plans for a 12 x 32 foot metal building to be added
on the Wylie Full Gospel Church. The request to move the building in was
denied on motion by R. C. Dodd and seconded by William Martin. The building
would violate zoning and building restrictions.
William Martin moved to re-elect R. C. Dodd as Mayor Pro-Tem of Wylie.
Second by Kenneth Nail. All Ayes. Kenneth Nall moved to appoint Mayor
Thomas as the city voting representative to the General Assembly of the
North Central Texas Council of Governments. Second by Dwayne Boyd. A
Resolution honoring Oneida Gallagher, for services to the City, was passed
on motion by William Martin and second by Stan Shively.
Bob Roberts, Lowell Newman, Jack Brown and Rex Bailey, all with General
Telephone Co. met with the Council to discuss the rate increase. After
lengthy discussion a negotiated schedule of rates was approved. R. C.
Dodd made a motion to pass Ordinance No. 75-5, setting forth charges for
telephone service within the City of Wylie to be effective May 1, 1975.
Alderman Dwayne Boyd seconded the motion. All Ayes.
