one motion. There will not be separate discussion of these items. If discussion is desired, that item will be removed
from the Consent Agenda and will be considered separately.
A. Discuss and review of 2024 WAF vendor applications and update on event
Board Discussion
PAC Ehrlich reported that 154 vendor booths have been assigned, with another 50 applications to review
with the selection panel after the meeting. Sponsorships from Methodist Hospital, CWD, Oncor, and Home
Remodeling have been received.
B. Discussion regarding Phase 2, Walking Trails (Yoshi Write) update
Board Discussion
PAC Ehrlich reported artist Yoshi Wright should be done with the first piece, Sacred Fire, around the end
of September or early October and will begin the second piece with an estimated December 2024 fabrication
completion for both pieces.
C. Discussion/update regarding Phase 3, Walking Trails Art, (Sonny Behan)
Board Discussion
PAC Ehrlich reported artist Sonny Behan began work on the maquette about a week and a half ago and
should be done around the first of October. He will send a photo of the completed maquette before he sends
it to the foundry in South Africa for a cost estimate. He will report back to the board once he receives a cost
estimate for the piece, including the extended base.
D. Discussion regarding the Call for Artists Phase 3 (2)
Board Discussion
PAC Ehrlich shared an updated timeline and reported that she wanted to extend the call a few weeks to
allow for more submissions. Ehrlich reviewed the revised dates and addressed the dates that involved the
board. A meeting was held earlier in the week to instruct the jury panel how to use the ranking system.
Instructions were also sent via email with login information to the panel. Board member Bellah questioned
why Ehrlich thought we had not received as many submissions for this call as the last one. Ehrlich
responded that bronze or metal relief was specific to the call but was unsure of a correlation between
mediums and fewer submissions. Board member Padhi asked how Ehrlich was reaching out to artists.
Ehrlich responded the city uses a company of over 30,000 national artists.
E. Discussion regarding promotional items for events and costs
Board Discussion
The board discussed the final designs and costs submitted by board member Shank. Consensus of the board
was to add the promotional items with costs to next month's regular agenda for consideration and action.
