11-06-1907 (City Council) Minutes Wylie Texas Nov 6th 1907 The town council of Wylie Texas met in regular session at City Hall on Nov 6th Mayor J. W. Russell presiding. On roll call the following responded; Mayor J.W. Russell, Marhall A. Brown, J. W. Amis, J. J. Hollomon, J. A. Hammett, R. Jackson and C. J. Gallagher Minutes of previous meeting read and approved. Unfinished business approved first in regard to notices served since last meeting and an motion and second was acted on as follows;Notices extended in last meeting of W. W. Hackler and Chris Dunbin also 30 day notice of Ed Neilou were passed up. Marshall A. Brown was instructed to build walks of G. W. Owens & Co & J. H. Burns and collect same as mentioned in notice. Also to notify G. C & S.F Ry Co to complete work according to previous notice. L. A. Powell clerk was instructed to give 10 day notice to R. L. Stone to repair walk in front of Rhodes property. J. H. Callaway asked council to give him some answers concerning street opened up by the town along his property and an motion and second same was given into hands of street committee. Mr Callaway then asked council in behalf of cemetary association to allow them to build a hitch rack in street in front of the cemetery and same was also left to the direction of the street committee. Presented by A. Brown a bill for Cook& Stouastreet(??) asking council to allow them to close alley north of sawmill for their use and by motion & Second it was agreed to instruct the Mayor to lease this property in a legal way They C. & S. paying a consideration sufficient to pay expense of waving same. On motion& second Mr. J. A. Hammett was appointed to purchase new bowl for stove, one swinging lamp, two wall lamps, one stand lamp and coal for the use of the City Hall The monthly report and 2nd quarterly report of Mayor J W Russell also reports of A. Brown marshall and L. A. Powell clerk was read and all approved. The following accounts were allowed; Loyd Neilon for Rope 40 A. Brown salary tax collections &postage 2625 John T.
