12-04-1907 (City Council) Minutes Wylie, Tex, Dec, 4th, 1907.
The town council of the Town of Wylie Tex met in regular session on Dec 4th at
City Hall, Mayor J. W. Russell presiding.
On roll call the following responded, Mayor J. W. Russell Marshall A. Brown J.
W. Amis. J. J. hollomon, J. A. Hammett, R. Jackson & C. J. Gallagher.
On unfinished business one notice which was served on R. Stone was passed up
as.having been attended to.
Verbal reports were given by street committee in which they stated that they had
made satisfactory arrangements with Mr. Callaway and had also given Cemetary
association privilege to put up hitch rack as submitted to the council in previous meeting.
The report of A. Brown marshall read and approved.
On motion and second A. Brown was instructed to employ two men to serve as
deputies for two days Christmas Eve and Christmas day, and to work at night and ???
in the day at salary of 2/:;) each per day. On motion and second it was decided to post
notices to prevent the shooting of fireworks between the east side of Jackson St, and the
west side of First St, and north and south between the Livery Stable and Santa Fe. depot
and within 200 ft, of either cotton yard.
The question of salaries for the four officials was submitted and the marshal's
salary by motion & second was raised to 35c3 per mo. Others to remain as they were.
