Members of the public must fill out a form prior to the meeting in order to speak. Board requests that comments be limited to three minutes for an individual, six minutes for a group. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Chair Cassie Dyson at 6:07 pm. Board members present included: Afshan Khan, Chantelle McMurrian, Esther Bellah, Steve Shank, and Gloria Suarez. Board member Manoj Padhi was absent. PAAB Coordinator Carole Ehrlich and Parks and Recreation Supervisor Julie Pannell also attended. COMMENTS ON NON -AGENDA ITEMS Any member of the public may address Council regarding an item that is not listed on the Agenda. In addition, Council is not allowed to converse, deliberate or take action on any matter presented during citizen participation. No citizens came forward. DISCUSSION ITEMS All matters listed under the Consent Agenda are considered to be routine by the City Council and will be enacted by one motion. There will not be separate discussion of these items. If discussion is desired, that item will be removed from the Consent Agenda and will be considered separately. A. Discussion regarding the 2024 Wylie Arts Festival Board Discussion PAC Ehrlich reported that 180 vendor booths have been assigned, with another 33 applications to review with the selection panel after the meeting. Sponsorships total $4000 and three food vendors have also been approved. B. Discussion regarding Phase 2, Walking Trails (Yoshi Write) update Board Discussion PAC Ehrlich reported artist Yoshi Wright plans to have both sculptures fabricated by December and would like to wait to install them in February or March of 2025. C. Discussion/update regarding Phase 3, Walking Trails Art, (Sonny Behan) Board Discussion PAC Ehrlich reported artist Sonny Behan's work on the maquette is partially done. PAC Ehrlich reminded Behan she is retiring at the end of December and would like to have the prices finalized by that time. 1112112024 Item 1. D. Discussion regarding the Call for Artists Phase 3 (2) Board Discussion PAC Ehrlich reported three semi-finalists had been chosen. Semi-final artists include Seth Vandable, Jessie Schattner representing Gillie & Marc, and Katherine Taylor. Katherine Taylor attended a Google Meet with PAC Ehrlich and PARD Supervisor Pannell and has declined participation. Board Member McMurrian stated she would like to see the fourth runner-up invited to be a semi-finalist. E. Discussion regarding the PAAB promotional events materials and costs Board Discussion The board discussed the final designs and costs submitted by board member Shank. The consensus of the board was to move forward with considering and acting upon the final designs. REGULAR AGENDA 1. Consider, and act upon, The Public Arts Advisory Board minutes from 9-19-2024 Board Action A motion was made by board member Shank, seconded by board member McMurrian to approve the minutes of September 19, 2024, as presented. A vote was taken and the motion passed 6-0 with board member Padhi absent. 2. Consider, and act upon, the final promotional event materials, design, and cost not to exceed $1.931.69 Board Action A motion was made by board member Bellah, seconded by board member Khan to approve the final promotional event materials, design, and cost not to exceed $1931.69, as presented. A vote was taken and the motion passed 6-0 with board member Padhi absent. ADJOURNMENT Board Action A motion was made by board member Khan, seconded by board member Shank to adjourn the meeting at 6:30 pm. A vote was taken and the motion passed 6-0 with board member Padhi absent.
