Resolution 81-82-11-01 RESOLUTION 81-82-11-1 A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY TO DEFRAY COST OF COLLECTION OF DELINQUENT TAXES. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wylie, Texas is under the opinion that expenses of collection of said delinquent taxes should be borne by the delinquent properties and their owners who are responsible for causing such expenses, and WHEREAS, Section 33.07 of the Texas Property Tax Code provides for the assessment of said penalty to defray the costs of collection of delinquent taxes, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS: Section 1. Whenever any accounts for delinquent taxes owed the City of Wyliearegiven to itls tax attorney for collection, on or after June 1 of the year they become delinquent, the City of Wylie, Texas shall be entitled to, and shall collect, an additional penalty of fifteen per cent (15%) of the delinquent taxes and penalty, in- cluding any interest owed to the City, due on each delinquent property at the time of collection, either before or after suit and before or after foreclosure sale, as provided by Section 33.07 of the Texas Property Tax Code. Section 2. In addition to the collection expenses provided for in Section 1 above, the City of Wylie, Texas shall be entitled to collect the actual expenses incurred by the City of Wylie, Texas and providing all data and information as to the name, identity, and location of necessary parties and the legal description of property necessary to the filing of any suit for delinqent taxes.
