Resolution 81-82-03-03 RESOLUTION 81-82-3-3 WHEREAS, it has come to th~ attention of the Wylie City Council that, inadvertently, the Council has illegally annexed the Birmingham Trust Land, and WHEREAS, this City Council is pledged to do its utmost to comply with all laws of the State of Texas and of the United States of America, and WHEREAS, it has become painfully obvious to this City Council that, regardless of the innocence of the Council as to the illegal procedure which was followed in the annexation of the Birming- ham Land, that the consensus of the people of Wylie would be in favor of this Council taking corrective action as soon as feasible, NOW THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS: Section 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby instructed to contact the legal counsel for the Texas Municipal League to see what procedure can be followed by this City Council to achieve the annexation of the Birmingham Trust Land as soon as feasible. Section 2. That this Council shall follow the legal procedure with diligent dispatch to legally deannex said property from the City of Wylie at the earliest possible date. Section 3. That the text of this resolution be published at the earliest possible date in the Wylie News, so that the people of Wylie might know that it is the firm policy of this City Council to correct its errors, however inadvertently committed, as quickly as feasible.
