Resolution 81-82-04-02 RESOLUTION NO. 81-82-4-2 WHEREAS, continued providential growth for the City of Wylie demands that a dynamic downtown business section be maintained, and WHEREAS, the continued vitality of the downtown area of Wylie can be insured by cooperative efforts of the business properties owners and operators and the City of Wylie, through the provision for paved off-street parking lots, NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS: Section 1. That the City Manager be, and is hereby authorized, to enter into informal agreements with downtown business property owners or operators so that the City will provide necessary crushed rock base and asphaltic concrete pavement where necessary to provide off-street parking, provided the business owners or operators will pay for the cost of the materials. In addition, the City will mark off parking stripes in accordance with the wishes of the business owner or operator and will maintain the surface of the parking lot and the parking stripes for a period of two years. Section 2. That business owners and operators be encouraged to instruct their employees to park on off-street parking lots which are provided by the employers to the greatest extent which is feasible, so that customers can enjoy convenient, on-street parking near the places of business. Section 3. That there is hereby established an appropriated paving revolving fund for off-street parking in the amount of $5,000., for use by the City I~anager to purchase off-street parking lot paving material. The payments by business owners or operators to the City for materials used for paving off-street parking lots shall be deposited into the off-street parking lot paving fund as long as this policy shall remain in force.
