Resolution 82-83-01-01 RESOLUTION 82-83-1-1 WHEREAS, there is an urgent need to repair much of the 72,000- mile Texas Highway System, as well as to repair and to replace many bridges, and WHEREAS, the rapid growth of population throughout the State will place an increasing burden of traffic upon the Highway system, and WHEREAS, there will be a need for additional local funds to match federal grant money in coming months; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS: Section 1. That this Council go on record as favoring increased highway funding during the coming legislative session, and that we hereby urge the sixty-eighth Texas Legislature to act expeditiously to provide additional funding for highway construction and maintenance. Section 2. That this City Council go on record in favor of local agencies furnishing and contributing their fair share of highway improve- ments through their jurisdictions. Section 3. That certified copies of this Resolution be forwarded to appropriate officials.
