Resolution 82-83-02-02 RESOLUTION 82-83-2-2 WHEREAS, the City Council often receives complaints of poor service from customers of General Telephone Company both inside the City of Wylie and in surroundi ng areas,: and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the service to telephone customers in the Wylie area has not significantly improved during the past two years in certain areas of service; to wit; after every rain many complaints are received of ground noise or static on the telephone receivers, in addition to which there are many instances of II dead telephonell or inability to dial a telephone number and make a good connection, and WHEREAS, General Telephone has had a reasonable rate increase within the past year, NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS: Section 1. That the City Council of Wylie, Texas wishes to go on record in opposition to any telephone rate increase for General Telephone Company in this area at this time. Section 2. That this City Council go on record in opposition to the proposed IImeasured servicell option as proposed in the present rate increase request. Section 3. Let the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized to join with other city officials in the service area of General Telephone Company to oppose the proposed rate increase in every way. Section 4 That certified copies of this Resolution be transmitted to appropriate authorities. DULY RESOLVED ON THIS, THE TWENTY-SECOND DAY OF FEBRUARY, A.D. 1983.
