Resolution 82-83-04-01 RESOLUTION NO. 82-83-4-1 A RESOLUTION AND ORDER CANVASSING THE RETURNS AND DECLARING THE RESULTS OF A CITY ELECTION. There came on to be considered the returns of an election held on the 2nd day of April, 1983 for the purpose of electing the hereinafter named officials, and conducting the following referendums, and it appearing from said returns, duly and legally made, that there were cast at said election 484 valid and legal votes; that each of the candidates in said election received the following votes: FOR COUNCIL Dennis Kaufman John W. Akin Larry D. Prater Randall Gaston James "Don" Hughes Calvin Westerhof Cleo Adams 168 279 127 167 270 111 250 That the referendum to decide the legalizing of bingo received the following votes: For Against 247 192 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS That said election was duly called; that notice of said election was given in accordance with law, and that said election was held in accordance with law, and that John W. Akin, James "Don" Hughes, and Cleo Adams were duly elected to said respective offices, subject to the taking of their oaths of office as provided by the laws of the state of Texas and the City of Wylie. That the majority of the qualified voters in the City of Wylie voted FOR the legalization of bingo. It is further found and determined that in accordance with the order of this governing body that the City Secretary posted written notice of the date, place and subject of this meeting on the front window of City Hall, a place convenient to the public, and said notice having been so posted and remaining posted continuously for at least 72-hours preceding the date of this meeting. A copy of the return of said posting shall be attached to the minutes of this meeting and shall be made a part therof for all intents and purposes.
