URGING PASSAGE OF HB 2092 BY THE STATE LEGISLATURE
WHICH WOULD PROVIDE FORMAL RECOGNITION TO THE
TEXAS MUNICIPAL CLERKS' CERTIFICATION PROGRAM.

the Texas Municipal Clerk's Certification Program
is a professional development program which has
now been in existence for the past seventeen

said program was initiated, designed and is
administered by City Clerks in cooperation with
the Association of City Clerks and Secretaries of

over 12,000 City officials have participated and
benefited from this program which has and
continues to remain educationally and profession-
ally responsible to the ever-changing needs of
Texas cities, twons and villages; and
State Representative Charles Evans has introduced
HB 2092 which will provide formal State
recognition to the Certification Program at no
cost to the State of Texas; and
the Certification Program has demonstrated its
ability to improve the performance of the City
Clerk while lowering the cost of municipal
government for the citizens of Texas;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF WYLIE:
Section 1 That the City Council of the City of Wylie
wholeheartedly supports the recognition of the
Texas Municipal Clerks' Certification Program.
Section 2 That copies of this Resolution be forwarded to
State Representative Charles Evans with
appreciation for introduction of this bill and
that copies also be sent to State Legislators
urging approval of HB 2092.
