Resolution 91-01 NORTH TEXAS MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT RESOLUTION NO. 91-1 A RESOLUTION ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS PROVIDING FOR" THE SECOND DIRECTOR TO BE APPOINTED BY THE CITY OF WYLIE, ESTABLISHING CONDITIONS OF APPOINTMENT, AND TERMS THERE- FOR. WHEREAS, the State Legislature created the North Texas Municipal Water District in accordance with the Constitution of the State of Texas, V.A.T.C.S., Article 8280-141, providing that Member Ci ties with a population of less than 5,000 will be eligible for one Director and the cities with a population above 5,000 will be eligible for two Directors; WHEREAS, the Legislative Act creating the NTMWD provides that the population of a Member City is to be determined by the most recent Federal Census and that "whenever such City may later at tain the population of 5,000 or more according to the Federal Census, it shall thereafter be entitled to two Directors as herein provided"; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF D I RECTORS OF THE NORTH TEXAS MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT THAT: 1. The Federal Census has released preliminary population data for the City of Wylie reflecting a population of 8,687; 2. Therefore, a vacancy is created for a second Director from the City of Wylie to serve until May 31, 1991, then an appointment would be made for a full two year term from June 1, 1991 to May 31, 1993; 3. The City Council of Wylie may appoint a second Director for a term beginning November 1, 1990 through May 31, 1991. The Director then could be reappointed or the City Council could choose another appointment to serve the first full term of the second Director. The Director must conform with the qualification requirements of the Legislative Act.
