Resolution 90-07-14-90-01 RESOLO'l'ION 110. W - 7-/~??J - / RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS REAFFIRMING THE FUNDING FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION OF A SECTION OF BROWN STREET AND MCCREARY ROAD WHEREAS, The City of Wylie wishes to continue its Capital Improvements Program of reconstructing major thoroughfares and designated urban roads in the City, and; WHEREAS, The City of WYlie's Master Thoroughfare Plan, as well as Collin County's Urban Roads Plan has designated Brown Street between N. Ballard (FM 2514) and U. S. Highway 78 North, as well as McCreary Road between FM 544 and McMillan Road (CR 298) as an urban roads (thoroughfares), and; WHEREAS, A two-lane rubberized railroad $140,000) will be a necessary McCreary Road, and; crossing (estimated to cost part of the reconstruction of WHEREAS, The economic down turn of the past few years, along with the failure of the 1988 County Bond package has restricted the available funds for new thoroughfare construction and reconstruction programs in Collin County, and; WHEREAS, The available funds have been designated for use within the City of Wylie to facilitate its urban roads and thoroughfare plans, and; WHEREAS, The Brown Street Reconstruction Program would act to connect FM 3412 and Highway 78 North, thereby providing direct benefits to the citizens of WYlie. WHEREAS, The reconstruction of Brown Street be for two (2) lanes at this time rather than four lanes as there are not enough funds for four (4) lanes, and this would allow funds for reconstrtuction of McCreary Road, and; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY mUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS, THAT SECTION 1 The City of WYlie request the reconstruction of Brown Street be for two lanes between N. Ballard and Highway 78 North. SECTION 2 The City of WYlie request the reconstruction of McCreary Road between FM 544 and CR 298 (McMillan Road) be done at the same time as Brown Street is being done.
