Resolution 94-07 RESOLUTION NO. 41-1 WHEREAS, From the inception of this nation, it has been the responsibility of the states and their local governments to adopt legislation and enforce laws and ordinances whenever necessary to protect their citizens' health, welfare, and safety, and WHEREAS, It has been a fundamental part of the democratic principles of this nation to involve all interested and affected parties from both the public and private sectors in the formulation, adoption, and to the fullest extent possible, in the administration of such laws and ordinances, and WHEREAS, Among the most basic of the laws and ordinances which have been so derived are those acts which assure the public's health and safety in the buildings in which people live, work, and play, and WHEREAS, To assure such safety, the City of Wylie, working together and in conjunction with the counties and cities and townships across this state, enforces a uniform statewide building code which has been designed and is maintained with the assistance of the building industry and the consumers, and WHEREAS, It is through the untiring efforts of state and local building officials and their cooperative relationship with the construction industry that the administration of these health and life safety regulations is assured. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Wylie, Texas, that: SECTION 1. The week of April 10 through April 16, 1994, as Wylie Building Safety Week. SECTION 2. All citizens are urged to use this week to visit their local building departments and to better familiarize themselves with the important safety information and services provided by these public servants.
