Resolution 94-34 RESOLUTION NO. 94-34 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION FOR ASSISTANCE UNDER THE 1994 TEXAS HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM (HOME PROGRAM), AUTHORIZING A LOCAL MATCH, AND DESIGNATING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACT AS THE CITY'S REPRESENTATIVE IN ALL MATTERS PERTAINING TO THE CITY'S PARTICIPATION IN THE TEXAS HOME PROGRAM. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wylie desires to develop a viable community, including decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expanding economic opportunities, principally for persons of low to moderate income; and, WHEREAS, certain housing conditions exist in the city which represent a threat to the public health, safety, and welfare; and, WHEREAS, funds are available through the 1994 Texas HOME program to alleviate such conditions. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS, that: SECTION 1. That a 1994 Texas Home Investment Partnership Program application is hereby authorized to be filed with the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) for funds in the amount of $312,000 for the following described project: Rehabilitation of owner-occupied housing units at various locations throughoutthe city ($300,000) and administration expenses relating to said project ($12,000). SECTION 2. That the following local resource commitment is hereby authorized to be included as part of the application: The City of Wylie commits to support the project described above with local contribution of $2,500 which will consist of local staff time involved in administration of the proposed project. SECTION 3. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to act as the city's representative in all matters in connection with the application and the city's participation in the 1994 Texas HOME Program and to execute documents in conjunction with the application.
