RESOLUTION NO. 95-:30
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS,
DECLARING THE WEEK OF OCTOBER 9, 1995, AS NATIONAL FIRE
PREVENTION WEEK IN WYLIE, ENCOURAGING THE COMMUNITY TO
PARTICIPATE IN FIRE PREVENTION ACTIVITIES AND ENDORSING THE
FIRE PREVENTION ACTIVITIES TAKING PLACE
WHEREAS, National Fire Prevention Week is the week of October 9, 1995, and the City of
Wylie recognizes the need for fire safety and prevention training in the community, and
WHEREAS, Fire Departments nationwide are providing and promoting fire prevention and
fire safety activities, and
WHEREAS, the Wylie Fire Department will be providing fire safety and prevention training
in all grade levels as well as in the community during the week of October 9th, and
WHEREAS, some of these activities will include a poster contest, literature distribution, home
inspection, fire escape & rescue demonstrations, an Open House at the Wylie Fire Station, and a fire
safety and prevention video presentation, and
WHEREAS, the Wylie City Council does support and endorse these activities
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WYLIE, THAT:
SECTION 1. The week of October 9th is hereby declared Fire Prevention Week and the month of
October is hereby declared:
Fire Prevention and Safety Month
SECTION 2. That all citizens and residents are hereby encouraged to participate in fire prevention
and safety activities and awareness programs available during Fire Prevention Week.
SECTION 3. That the City Council of the City of Wylie does hereby endorse and support all
activities proposed for Fire Prevention Week.
