RESOLUTION NO. 9,5: 33
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS, SUPPORTING RESOLUTION NO.4
AT THE 1995 TEXAS MUNICIPAL LEAGUE ANNUAL CONFERENCE SPONSORED BY
THE BUILDING OFFICIAL'S ASSOCIATION OF TEXAS CALLING FOR SUPPORT OF
THE INTERNATIONAL CODES COUNCIL'S EFFORT TO FORMULATE A SINGLE SET
OF MODEL CODES.
WHEREAS, the City of Wylie enforces a set of model codes regulating construction
and buildings; and
WHEREAS, the City of Wylie recognizes a need for a single set of model codes to
offset the confusion of contractors coming to our area; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wylie does not desire to have a code
written by the federal government mandated to them; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wylie wishes to become a part of the
voluntary effort of local governments joining together to formulate codes which will
uniformity and allow flexibility to each city to adopt codes that are necessary to them; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Wylie that
they will support Resolution No.4 at the 1995 TML Annual Conference, sponsored by the
Building Officials Association of Texas calling for support of the effort of the International
Code Council to formulate a single set of model codes.
