Resolution 00-09 RESOLUTION NO 2..000 -9 lltl) A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS, DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE CANVASS FOR THE ELECTION RETURNS OF THE SPECIAL ELECTION HELD ON MAY 6, 2000; SPECIAL ELECTION FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING A COUNCIL MEMBER TO FILL THE VACANCY OF THE UNEXPIRED TERM OF PLACE 3, EXPIRING IN MAY OF 2001. WHEREAS, The Wylie City Council of the City of Wylie, Texas (City) held a Special Election on May 6, 2000 for the purpose of electing a council member to fill the vacancy of the unexpired term of Place 3, expiring in May of 200 1. WHEREAS, A Canvass of the Special Election returns was conducted on May 9,2000 in accordance with the Election Code, and WHEREAS, It was found that the persons herein named received the following votes for said unexpired term of office on the Wylie City Council of the City of Wylie, Texas: COUNCIL PLACE 3 Wayne Morman Eric Hogue 316 376 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS: SECTION 1. Eric Hogue is hereby declared to be elected Council Member Place 3. SECTION 2. The Wylie City Council hereby finds and determines, as a result of the Canvass, held on May 9,2000, that a combined Election Day and Early Vote total of921 votes were cast in the General and Special Election, with 272 early voters, as indicated by the poll list for the General and Special Election held on May 6,2000. SECTION 7. It is hereby declared that the City of Wylie approves and accepts the results of the Special Election for Council Place 3 as set forth in the Order attached hereto as Exhibit A, as determined by the majority vote of the qualified voters of the City of Wylie. Resolution No. Page 2 SECTION 8. This Resolution will become effective after its passage by the Wylie City Council.
