In accordance with Section 551.042 of the Texas Government Code, this agenda has been posted at the Wylie Municipal
Complex, distributed to the appropriate news media, and posted on the City website: www.wylietexas.gov within the
required time frame. As a courtesy, the entire Agenda Packet has also been posted on the City of Wylie website:
www.wylietexas.gov.
The Chairman and Board request that all cell phones and pagers be turned off or set to vibrate. Members of the audience
are requested to step outside the Council Chambers to respond to a page or to conduct a phone conversation.
The Wylie Municipal Complex is wheelchair accessible. Sign interpretation or other special assistance for disabled
attendees must be requested 48 hours in advance by contacting the City Secretary's Office at 972.442.8100 or TD

CALL TO ORDER
Announce the presence of a Quorum.
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chair Stewart Matthews. In attendance were board
members Thomas Gaudreau, Ashley Burt, Kathy Spillyards, and Alvaro Salinas. Board members Polly
Harrison and Erin Dougherty were absent.
Staff present included Carole Ehrlich, board liaison/secretary.
DISCUSSION ITEMS
• Update regarding artist selection process for the Founder's Park Art

Staff Comments
PAAB Liaison Ehrlich addressed the board stating that during the March Public Art Advisory Board
meeting action was taken to use the Direct Selection process and contact artist Madeline Wiener to
provide 3-4 art designs for the Founder's Park Project. Staff has contacted Madeline Wiener and she
has agreed to submit 3-4 art designs for the Founder's Park Selection Panel to review and recommend
a final design. She will have those designs completed by the 21st of April.
Ehrlich reported that the Founder's Park Selection Panel would meet on the 29th of April to review the
designs and recommend a final design to the board. She asked if the board could meet immediately
after the selection panel on the 29th for their discussion and recommendation to the Wylie City Council.
She explained that the improvements were running ahead of schedule and staff had been notified by
the contractor that improvements completion was estimated for the middle of September.
Direction from the board was to schedule the meeting immediately after the selection panel meeting on
the 29th of April.
• Update regarding artists commissioned for the Municipal Complex Art

Staff Comments
PAAB liaison Ehrlich gave an update on the progress with regard to the art sites at the new Wylie
Municipal Complex. She explained that some issues had arisen with Living Lenses and the fabrication
of the art sculpture cost. She noted that staff was working through those issues. --
Ehrlich explained that City Manager Mindy Manson, Architect, Craig Melde and she were scheduled to
meet Friday April 16, 2010 at the new complex to determine the exact art space for each art piece.
BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Consider and act upon approval of the minutes from the March 11, 2010 Public
Arts Advisory Board meeting. (C. Ehrlich, PAAB staff liaison)
Board Action
A motion was made by board member Spillyards, seconded by board member Burt to approve the
PAAB Minutes from March 11, 2010 as presented. A vote was taken and the motion passed 5-0 with
board members Harrison and Dougherty absent.
2. Consider and act upon amending the meeting date and time for the Public Arts
Advisory Board meetings. (C. Ehrlich, Board Liaison)
Staff Comments
PAAB Liaison Ehrlich addressed the board stating that during the March PAAB meeting members discussed the
best meeting date and time to allow as many board members as possible, attend the regular monthly meetings.
One of the days discussed was Monday and some members desired to have the meetings start at 7:00 pm rather
than 6:30.

Members present discussed the time and day and commented that they believed the meetings should remain at
6:30 pm. Board Chair Matthews asked each member if they had a conflict with either the third Thursday of the
month or the 6:30 pm starting time. All members present agreed that the current day and time was most
convenient for members and staff.
Board Action
A motion was made by board member Salinas, seconded by board member Gaudreau to leave the
current third Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm. as the day and time for Public Art Advisory Board
Meetings. A vote was taken and the motion passed 5-0 with board members Harrison and Dougherty
absent.
ADJOURNMENT
With no further business before the Wylie Public Arts Advisory Board, a motion was made by board
member Salinas, seconded by board member Gaudreau to adjourn the meeting at 7:00 pm. A vote was
taken and the motion passed 5-0 with board members Harrison and Dougherty absent.
