FROM: JOHN PITSTICK, CITY MANAGER
DATE: SEPTEMBER 2 , 1988
SUBJECT: WORK SHOP TO DISCUSS EMERGENCY AMBULANCE SERVICES
AND CITY WIDE SPORTS AND RECREATION PROGRAM ON
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 7 , 1988 AT 6 : 30 P.M. IN THE
CITY MANAGER ' S CONFERENCE ROOM
I realize City Council normally doesn' t like to meet on
Wednesday, but there are two items that staff needs some
direction on quickly.
The formal establishment of the YMCA in Wylie for scheduling
and organization of all sports needs to be discussed quickly
with soccer and football season upon us . We have no formal
agreement with WSA or YMCA and don' t have staff to oversee a
sports and recreation program. It is important that we have
better control over the use of our parks through a formal
agreement. We will discuss the options available to the
city Wednesday night .
Another item of deep concern is the availability of Lifeline
to continue as our emergency ambulance provider . We hope to
present options Wednesday night for improving this
situation.
I appreciate your time and efforts during this busy time and
hope we can get back to a normal meeting schedule in the
near future.
