BOARD MEETING
The Library Board of the City of Wylie met in regular session on August 11, 1999, at the Library at
7:00 p.m. The attendees were:

ACTION ITEMS
1. Approval of the Minutes.
Minutes were approved as read from the July 19, 1999, meeting.
DISCUSSION ITEMS
2. Discuss Monthly Report.
Summer Reading Club participation increased 37% over last year. The Tuesday
programs averaged around 100 people in attendance. Mignon is considering
having two programs next year.
3. Discuss Study Room Computer.
The staff requested to discontinue the study room computer service due to ongoing
problems. The Board requested statistics on usage of the computer. Mignon
reported that usage was low over the summer and suggested reevaluating the
service in January 2000.
4. Discuss Library Card Month Programs.
The Library will host four programs in coordination with the school libraries during
the month of September for Library Card Month. A prize will be given to the school
that has the highest percentage of registrations. Also, drawings will be done after
each of the programs to encourage participation. The programs are designed for K
through 6.
PRESENTATION
The presentation was postponed due to computer problems.
NEW BUSINESS
There is $1555 in the Mary Conely Memorial Fund. Some materials have been
purchased. The September Newsletter will list the materials purchased with the
funds.
Mignon is researching foundations that may be interested in funding the Library
long range plan consultant.
