BOARD MEETING
The Library Board of the city of Wylie met in regular session on November 9, 1999
at the Library at 7:00 p.m. The attendees were:

Grace Morrison
Debra Workman
Shirley Burnett
Mary Starnes
1. Approval of the Minutes.
Minutes were approved as read from the October 11 Meeting.
2. Discuss and Act upon the Approval of the Revised Internet Policy.
Mignon updated the Board on the status of the Internet policy and Collin County
funding. Commissioner Joe Jaynes contacted Mignon and faxed a copy of
Melissa's policy. He underlined the language that the commissioners want in each
policy. Additions were made according to the Commissioner's request and the
Attorney approved the revision.
The Library Advisory Board approved the revision, and the policy will go to Council
on November 9.
3. Discuss Monthly Report
The circulation increased for October 1999 compared to October 1998. The most important prole(
the staff is working on at this point is bar coding. The goal is to complete the bar coding project by
March 2000. Grace and Shirley volunteered to help the staff with the bar coding project.
Geri Kleisel will be retiring in the spring, and the project needs to be completed before the vacant,
occurs. Mignon informed the board that she is preparing for the vacancy by scheduling volunteer:
to do story time for the months of April through July.
NEW BUSINESS
There are two events during Children's Book Week. On Monday there will be a Children's Re
Aloud hosted by Don Dean's Independent Study Class. Thursday the Jr. High Theatre Arts cla:
will do a skit.
The Library will be closed on December 17 for Staff Training.
TMLDA is hosting a panel of Attorneys to discuss filtering issues on November 18 at tt
Convention Center.
