Downloadable Audio, Tumblereadables, World Book Encyclopedia Online, Accessing Personal
Account and Mango Languages and ResumeMaker.
Rachel will look into having one log-in for all databases.
ACTION ITEMS
1. The Library Board Minutes of Monday, September 13, 2010 were approved with corrections.
DISCUSSION ITEMS
Rachel read the Library Board brainstorming session from the September 13, 2010 meeting.
(see attached) The library staff discussed having a small laptop or IPAD for interne use rather than a
complete desktop. The library staff also discussed using this type of equipment for magazine and
newspaper readers. IPADS are more robust and easier to handle than a laptop. Downloadable audio are
about the same price as a book. With the e-books, sometimes the vendor offers the print copy for free.
The library board said that Facebook would be easier to update rather than a blog.
October 11,2010 Library Advisory Board Regular Meeting Agenda Page 2 of 2
The Council meeting will have the Interlocal Agreement with Collin County funding for the library and
„Mu signage for the entire municipal complex.
Grace Morrison asked that the Library Board call their RSVP for Literacy and Legacy.
STAFF REPORTS
The library is going to Wylie Is Hope Fair. If Library Board members can attend and help let Rachel
know.
The Barnes and Noble Book Fair is November 6 and 7 at Firewheel. You may also go online by using
the Book Fair code.
The library staff would rather wait until right before the new building opens for a staff appreciation.
They would rather have a dessert social. They also do not want their families to attend.
The library will close on Friday, December 31 and will not open until March 2011.
