09-16-2010 (Public Arts Advisory) Minutes 7dt Public Arts Advisory Board - CITY OF WYLIE Minutes Regular Meeting September 16 2010 — 6:30 p.m. Wylie Municipal Complex Council Conference Room 2000 Highway 78 North CALL TO ORDER Announce the presence Oa Quorum. The meeting was called to order at 6:35 p.m. by Chair Stewart Matthews. In attendance were board members Ashley Burt, Polly Harrison, and Kathy Spillyards. Thomas Gaudreau, Deya Harris, and Erin Dougherty were absent. Staff present included Public Information Officer, Craig Kelly and Carole Ehrlich, board liaison/secretary. DISCUSSION ITEMS • Discussion regarding the December 4, 2010 2nd Annual Wylie Arts Festival (C. Kelly, PIO and C. Ehrlich, PAAB Liaison) Board member chairs reported on the progress planning for the 2nd annual Wylie Arts Festival. Board member Burt displayed another option sample of the proposed T-shirt with a design by featured artist Rudy Suarez. Board members gave direction to review a black shirt with a different type of color process. Various chair persons gave updates regarding the progress made by their individual committees. • Update to the Municipal Complex Art Projects for Site #1 and Site #2. PAAB liaison Ehrlich reported that both Living Lenses and Steve Gillman had received a permit to begin fabrication on their art projects. There was not a firm date on completion of either project. The discussion regarding the dedication of the art projects would be made as the time of completion grew nearer. BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Consider and act upon approval of the minutes from the August 19, 2010 Public Arts Advisory Board meeting. (C. Ehrlich, PAAB Liaison) Board Action A motion was made by board member Spillyards, seconded by board member Harrison to approve the minutes from the August 19, 2010 PAAB meeting as presented. A vote was taken and passed 4-0 with board members Gaudreau, Dougherty, and Harris absent.
