CALL TO ORDER
Announce the presence of a Quorum.
The meeting was called to order at 6:33 p.m. by Chair Stewart Matthews. In attendance were board
members Ashley Burt, Polly Harrison, Thomas Gaudreau, Deya Harris, and Erin Dougherty. Board
member Kathy Spillyards was absent.
Staff present included Public Information Officer, Craig Kelly and Carole Ehrlich, board
liaison/secretary.
DISCUSSION ITEMS
• Discussion regarding the December 4, 2010 2nd Annual Wylie Arts Festival
(C. Kelly, PIO and C. Ehrlich, PAAB Liaison)
Board member chairs reported on the planning progress for the 2"d annual Wylie Arts Festival.
Various chair persons gave updates regarding the progress made by their individual committees.
Polly Harrison- Entertainment, reported that several school choirs and possibly bands had committed to
perform in the event. Harrison reported that board member Gaudreau had been instrumental in
obtaining commitments from the schools/classes.
Ashley Burt, Vendor Booth chair, reported that 34 booths were currently approved for the event with
anticipation that many more applications would be received in the next few weeks.
Erin Dougherty, Volunteer Committee, reported that she was arranging a meeting with CERT to plan
the volunteer program for the event.
Craig Kelly and Stewart Matthews, Sponsorship Committee, reported that $1,200 in sponsorships had
been committed with many more anticipated.

#3; Update Founder's Park Art Project.
Staff/Board Discussion
Staff liaison Ehrlich reported on the progress for Municipal Complex, Site#1, Site#2 and Site#3 art projects and
the progress at Founder's Park. She noted that the projects were coming along nicely. The large granite

monoliths were scheduled to be brought in by crane, one at a time to be place on the poured footings on
November 9th and continue into the 10m of November. She asked members to come out and watch these large
pieces of granite be placed in their final art sites.
Ehrlich reported that Living Lenses (art project#2) was also coming along and in the fabrication stage. She noted
that some discussions should begin regarding the dedication of the art pieces. She explained that the art could be
dedicated at the same time for all three pieces or individually presented to the public. The board discussed the
pros and cons to these processes and asked board liaison Ehrlich to bring the item back as an agenda item to
consider making a recommendation to the council regarding the timing and process for the art dedications.
Ehrlich reported that Steve Gillman would be in town the week of November 8, 2010 to insure the installation went
well and to talk with Ron Henry, etcher of the stone monoliths.
Ehrlich presented pictures taken by artist Steve Gillman at Marble Falls where the granite for the monoliths was
cut. She also showed pictures of the progress thus far with "CATCH", the Founder's Park art project.
Board member Harrison left for another meeting at 7: 20 p.m.
BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Consider and act upon approval of the minutes from the September 16, 2010
Public Arts Advisory Board meeting. (C. Ehrlich, PAAB staff liaison)
Board Action
A motion was made by board member Burt, seconded by board member Gaudreau to approve the
minutes from the September 16, 2010 PAAB meeting as presented. A vote was taken and the motion
passed 5-0 with board members Spillyards and Harrison absent.
ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by board member Burt, seconded by board member Gaudreau to adjourn the
meeting at 7:30 p.m. A vote was taken and the motion passed 5-0 with board members Spillyards and
Harrison absent.
