These additions were done after they processed the opening day collection with a two person department. Gordon Korman Event The event had good attendance but thought it might have been better if the library was open. At that time, there was still some confusion as to when the library was going to be open. Friends Activities — Chili's Fundraiser will be held Monday, April 25 from 5:00 to 9:00pm and hil i's will donate 10% of the sales to the Friends. You must bring the flyer for the percentage to be donated. Scholastic Book Sale—The sale will be held on June 3 in the Multi-Purpose Room. If there is a crunch for help Grace will email the Board Members. If Board Members are not asked to assist, they are encouraged to attend. Early Voting — Begins May 2 and goes to May 10 in the Multi-Purpose Room. The voting machines should arrive between April 25 and 29. Library Staff— The amount of staff was discussed and how many new members have been added. It was stated that there are 25 total with 14 full time and 11 part-time staff members. Rachel was going to take a survey of staff as to when a recognition event can be held. It was discussed that it needs to be April 11, 2011 Library Advisory Board Regular Meeting Minutes Page 3 of 3 held prior to the Dedication Ceremony on June 18 so that the staff does not feel they have been forgotten. It also would be better to hold it prior to the Summer Reading Kickoff but not during early voting. It was decided that dessert type food would be served. Computer Classes — The computer lab still has to be set up before classes can start. The target date is the first part of June. Interviews have been being held for instructors. Brett was encouraged to teach a class and it was discussed whether or not it would be a conflict of interest. It was requested that Rachel be consulted as to whether it is a conflict. The Electronic Services Librarian has a list of the courses that will be offered. ADJOURNMENT Meeting adjourned at 7:38 pm. m " e Grace Morrison, President Date
