The Board Members were encouraged to attend as many budget meetings as possible. The City Council
meetings start at 6:00pm.
There will be public hearings held and adoption of the tax rate.
Budget cuts at the State level: The Lone Star grant has been eliminated so the library will not be
receiving it. In the past, the amount has been around $10,000 and has been used to pay for databases.
The Director will try to find the money somewhere else in the budget to cover the expense of the
databases.
Money from the County, in the past has been around $23,000.00 and we are hoping to receive the same
amount this year to help cover the cost of books.
