06-19-1995 (Planning & Zoning) Minutes MINUTES
The Planning and Zoning Commission met in a Regular Business Meeting on June 19, 1995, at 6:30 p.m. in the
Council Chambers of the Wylie Municipal Complex, located at 2000 Hwy. 78 North, Wylie, Texas 75098. A
quorum was present and a notice was posted in the time and manner required by law.
COMMISSION MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Bart Peddicord, Vice-Chairman,Rich Eckman, Stuart
Allison, Cecilia Wood and Tim Owen.
ABSENT: John Crowe - excused; Steve Ahrens - unexcused
STAFF MEMBERS PRESENT: Building Official, Mike Phillips and Technical Coordinator, Lisa Price
ACTION ITEMS
ITEM NO. 1: Consider approval of the Minutes from June 5, 1995 Regular Business Meeting. A motion was
made by Rich Eckman and seconded by Stuart Allison to approve the Minutes as submitted. Motion carried, all
in favor(5 votes).
ITEM NO. 2: Discuss and consider a recommendation to the City Council for approval of a Final Plat for The
Cornerstone Private School,located at the northwest corner of Industrial Court and Birmingham Street (1.2 acres).
Chairman Peddicord asked the Building Official if he had anything to add. Mike Phillips stated that he and the
Consulting Engineer,Greg MacLean had reviewed the plans, and except for some minor drainage problems which
can be handled during construction, everything seemed to be in order. Cecilia Wood questioned whether dedication
for street widening was applicable to this project. Mr. Phillips stated that to his knowledge there are no plans to
widen either Industrial Court or Birmingham Street. Don Jackson of Jackson Associates(surveyor of this project),
2600 West F.M. 544 added that the existing Birmingham Street is on the east side of the right-of-way and from
the back of the curb to the existing right-of-way line there is about another 20'. If more right-of-way is needed,
it would probably have to come off of the other side to accommodate any kind of widening. A motion was made
by Rich Eckman and seconded by Cecilia Wood to recommend to City Council for approval of this Final Plat of The
Cornerstone Private School . Motion carried, all in favor(5 votes).
ADJOURN: A motion was made by Rich Eckman and seconded by Cecilia Wood to adjourn. Motion carried, all
in favor(5 votes). Chairman Peddicord adjourned the meeting.
