( Block 4, Lot 3, Keller's Addition) (C. Ehrlich, PAAB Liaison) Executive Summary Staff and the board discussed a possible project surrounding the painting of a new mural on the south wall of the building located at 104 S. Ballard, facing Olde City Park. City Manager Manson explained that currently a mural is painted in this location however the paint and portions of the wall have deteriorated and a new mural needs to be created once all repairs to the wall have been made. Board members discussed possible funding coming from current public art funds to commission an artist to create the mural. City Manager Manson explained that the property owner would be responsible for insuring that sealing was placed on the wall prior to painting so no moisture would seep into the interior of the building and the City would take care of any repairs needed to bring the wall to painting condition. Board member Spillyards stated that she would research some murals to determine an artist budget for the project based on size and would also check to see the process muralists would be able to provide with regard to visual proposals. Direction from the board was for staff to draft a call for artists and bring the draft to the next scheduled meeting for further discussion and formal action to approve a call for artists. • Discussion regarding City Council comments during the council presentation for the Wylie Arts Festival and other new events to focus on public art.
