CALL TO ORDER
Shirley Burnett called the meeting to order.

Minutes were read and approved.
The Budget in the Technology Plan for FY 2006-2007 was changed from
"Proposed"to"Final". Technology Plan was approved.
Long Range Plan Discussion: Changes were made to the part about contacting
two schools for the art teachers. It was changed to be more general.
The Library Board discussed the Service Responses selected. A question was
asked about the definition about Information Referral. This service response
would include in-depth referral databases. The Service Responses selected were
the broader ones that would encompass a variety of services. Changes were made
in some areas such as the Current Topic and Titles. In FY 2007, standards for
processing will be investigated. In FY 2008, the standards will be implemented.
The tutor.com bookmarks and business cards were passed out. This will be a
promotion in FY 2007. The bookmark for the webpage was also distributed.
These bookmarks will be used to promote the webpage for reserving and
renewing materials. The bibliography was passed out on the Homework
Resources. Recommended changes will be made and approval of the Long Range
Plan will be at the next meeting.
Christmas Dinner: Grace said that the date is set for Monday,December 11 at
6 p.m. Grace asked about meal preferences.
The P.I.R.A.T.E.S. flyer was approved for display. It is a non-profit, no fee,
and support group for parents in WISD who have children with dyslexia.
STAFF REPORTS
Rachel Orozco reported that the Fiscal Year ended on a good note. Ninety-three
to ninety-five percent of the budget was spent. All of the book budget was spent.
All statistics were up except for the processing of materials. This is due to the
vacancy in cataloging. More books were deleted this year than added because of
the age and condition of the collection. The book collection is at about 50,000.
Interviews for the Children's Reference Assistant will be Friday, October 13,
2006. This person will be in place by November. The site selection meeting with
the architects will be held Thursday, October 12, 2006.
