The Long Range Plan was approved. Library Director, Rachel Orozco, presented the proposed fines and fees schedule to update the ordinance. Board members discussed the $1.00 per page for fax services. Library Board members discussed lowering the fee to .50. One of the members felt that lowering the fax service might bring more people into the Library. Fax service has gone up and our revenues have increase over the years. Faxes in 2004-2005 $383.00; 2005-2006 $534.00. It was also discussed to see what long distance faxing would cost for the future services. The majority is for lowering the fax fee to .50. Library Board asked about the .25 per color. This is a new service so the Library does not have the track record for it. Most libraries charge .25. The children are the main users of the color copier. The Library will track usage this coming year. A Library Board member asked about the $1.00 fee for video and if that was enough to get the material returned. The video was extended to three weeks with no renewals. Patrons were renewing videos and accruing fines. The videos do not have a high demand. The fines and fees schedule was approved with the .50 change for fax service. The changes and additions to the Fines and Fee Schedule is as follows: • Books, Magazines, Books-on-Tape/CD, Video (per day, per item) .10 • DVD(per day,per item) 1.00 • Fax(including cover page, per page) .50 • Copies, photocopier and printer(Black White, per page) .10 • Copies, printer(color, per page) .25 • Library Card Replacement 1.00 • Barcode 1.00 • Damaged Material, cost of the materials, plus $3.00 processing fee • DVD and Video cases 3.00 • Lost Materials, cost of materials, plus $3.00 processing fee • Overhead Projector, per day 10.00 STAFF REPORTS The Library Board took a practice survey that will be given out to users and non-users. The Library has a new Technical Services Librarian, Laura Condit. Cristen Williams, Children's Librarian, received the Innovation Award. Scottie Robbins, Library Technician, received the Grace Under Pressure Award for her work this year. The Friends made about $1700 with a gift of$1000 from WalMart.
