07-11-1985 (Planning & Zoning) Minutes - _ PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION MEETING _ MINUTES JULY 11, 19S5 The Planning and Zoning Commission for the City of Wylie, Texas met in regular session on Thursday, July 11 , 1985 in the Council Chambers at City Hall . A quorum was present and notice of the meeting had been posted for the time and in the manner required by law. Those present were Chairman, Kent Crane, Brian Chaney, Ken Mauk, Bill Chapman, City Manager Gus Pappas and City Secretary Carolyn Jones. Four members of the board were absent, Sarah Connelly, Bryant Barry, Nancy Conkle and John Hamilton. Chairman Kent Crane called the meeting to order. APPROVAL__OF MINUTES: There being no corrections or additions to the minutes, Ken Mauk made a motion to approve as submitted. It is located in both Dallas and Rockwall Counties. Chairman Kent Crane opened the public hearing, there being no questions or opposition, the public hearing was closed, and this item returned to the commission table. Ken Mauk wanted to know if this property would come in as agricultural . City Manager Gus Pappas said only for a while, that after the annexation hearings, there would be zoning hearings and a zoning ordinance signed. Bill Chapman made the motion that this 10. 038 acres be recommended to the City Council for approval for annexation. Seconded by Ken Mauk, all in favor. PUBLIC HEARING ON THE ANNEXATION OF-TWO_<2i' ACRES '-OF--TW4 E WIl=LIAM SACHSE _SURV1Qy,.__aBSTRAITED5; This property is located on the southeast corner of FM 544 and Steel Road, which is just north of and adjacent to Steel Industrial Park. Chairman Kent Crane opened the public hearing, there be no questions or opposition, the public hearing was closed and this item returned to the commission table. Brian Chaney wanted to know if this property would be grandfathered, or would it have to come up to city standards. City Manager said yes, it would have to come up ~~^ to standards with zoning, but their building was pre- existing so it will have to remain. If at a later date, they decide to add on to the building, then it will be brought up to all our building codes. Motion was made by Brian Chaney _ to recommend this 2 acres to the City Council for approval for annexation. Seconded by Ken Mauk, all in favor. Motion was made by Ken Mauk to adjourn.
