PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION
THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 8 , 1984
The Planning and Zoning Commission for the city of rviylie ,
Texas met in regular session on Thursday , ' ovember d , 194
in the council chambers at city hall . A quorum was Present
and notice of the meetins had been posted for the time and
in the manner required by law.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Kandy Gaston at
7 : 00 P .h. with commission members 2ryant Larry , Ken laul ,
Nancy ConEle , Kent Crane , herold Spence and Sarah Connelly
nresent . 'Representing the city staff were City a.nager Cur
Pappas , C .E. O. Coy Faires , and secretary Barbara LeCocn .
ITEM NO. 1 — APPROVAL OF MINUTES — There being no additions
or corrections , Kent Crane made a motion to approve the
minutes as submitted . Ken Rauk seconded the motion . lotion
carried 7-0 .
ITEM NO. 2 — CONDUCT PUBLIC HEARING ON ZONING OF 8. 85 ACRES
OUT OF R. D. NEWMAN SURVEY — This property is located west
..—... of Lien Knoll ,lobile i'lome Park. The public hearing was
opened by Randy Gaston . There being no questions or
comments from the floor , the 2ublic hearing was closed and
the item returned to the commission for discussion . -Randy
Gaston noted that the request was for industrial zoning on
this tract . ilarold Spence asked about oroper ingress into
the property . Kent Crane said he was concerned about the
industrial zonins around a residential area (mobile home
parh) . Gus Pappas , city Troanager , noted that the mobile some
park ordinance requirement for set—bacs and screening
nrovide a built—in buffer . he also noted that the
industrial zoning is compatible with the zoning in the area .
ant Crane asked about the amount of noise that will be
generated . Gus Pappas said there is no actual manufacturing
on the premises . There being no further discussion , .;1-yant

zoning desisnation for this tract of land to the city
council of Uylie . Ken Tauh seconded the motion . iotion
carried three (3) in favor , one ( 1 ) opposed and two ( 2)
abstentians . (Abstentions that are not a conflict of
interest count as affirmative votes . )
ITEM NO. 3 — CONDUCT PUBLIC HEARING ON ANNEXATION OF 35. 700
ACRES OUT OF DUKE STRICKLAND SURVEY — Gus Pappas , city
17-anacr located the property on the map . It is located

being no questions or comments from the floor , the public

some general discussion concerning the extent of the
boundaries , Sarah Connelly made a motion , seconded by Harold

ITEM NO. 4 — CONDUCT PUBLIC HEARING ON ANNEXATION OF 2 ACRES
IN STEEL INDUSTRIAL PARK — Since item numbers 4 and 5 are
related , Gus Pappas , city anacer located both pieces of
property on the map . Se explained tOa_t the owner , Grover

ITEM NO. 5b — CONSIDER APPROVAL OF PRELIMINARY PLAT FOR
