06-03-1980 (Planning & Zoning) Minutes PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION Special Meeting June 3 , 1980 7 : 00 The Wylie Planning and Zoning Commission met in special meeting at 7 p .m. on Tuesday, June 3rd, 1980 with all members present . Also present were all members of the Wylie City Council , several guests and a majority of the members of the Board of Directors of the Wylie Chamber of Commerce . Others present were City Secretary Sarah Connelly, City Manager Lee S. Vickers , consultant Frank Razor, Dennis Masters , and J. T. Dunkin. Dr. Joe Fulgham presided and Dennis Masters presented an overview of the Comprehensive Community Plan, including the elements relating to housing, land use , major thoroughfare , and the water and sewer utility system. There was much discussion relating to the thoroughfares connecting with neighboring cities . The discussion concerning the utility system indicated a need for one additional sanitary sewer lift station, additional sludge drying beds at the Waste Water Treatment Plant and installation of sand filters also at the Waste Water Plant . Mr. J. T. Dunkin led the discussion on the Thoroughfare Plan and Chamber of Commerce president Theodore Kent thanked the Planning and Zoning Commission for the preview of the Comprehensive Community Plan. Mayor John W. Akin expressed his appreciation for the cooperative spirit in which the Plan has been presented to the leaders of the community and expressed his hope that all could work together in the coming years to implement the Plan. There being no further business the meeting was adjourned. dad
