Call to Order
1. Approval of the Minutes.
Minutes were approved as read from the April Meeting.
2. Discuss the Library Automation Problems.
Mignon gave a brief overview of the problems that the Library staff is
experiencing with the new automation system. A letter was mailed to the
President of Ameritech on May 12, 1998 addressing the issues, and a response
was requested by May 18, 1998. Some of the issues were negative barcodes,
barcodes not scanning, poor customer service, and the record clean-up that has
been necessary. The cover letter was written by Mike Collins and copied to
Richard Abernathy, City Attorney.
3. Discuss Roseanne Burgess Funds for the Library.
The Library was given $3400 from the Roseanne Burgess/Johnson settlement.
Funds are to be spent on children's materials. The Library received the funds as
part of the mid-year budget. A plaque will be purchased that states funds were
used for children's materials.
