ACTION ITEMS
The Library Board Minutes of Monday, January 14, 2013 were approved as presented.
There were no additional Action items on the Agenda.
DISCUSSION ITEMS
A discussion was held regarding the Unattended Child Policy being currently set at the age of 11. When
the Library and Recreation Center first opened both entities agreed that the policy would be set at age
11. However, due to complaints the Recreation Center received they revised their policy and set the age
at 7. Staff in the Children's Department currently spends a large amount of time explaining our age
=autoft limit and the reasoning behind it. As a result, Staff has asked the Board to review the age limit and
consider changing it to age 9. After a lengthy discussion, it was agreed that the issue be tabled for
further discussion and voting on at the March meeting.
