ANNEXING ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING THE HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED
TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF WYLIE, COLLIN COUNTY,
TEXAS, AND EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF SAID
CITY SO AS TO INCLUDE SAID HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED
PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS, AND GRANTING TO
SAID TERRITORY AND TO ALL FUTURE INHABITANTS OF
SAID PROPERTY ALL OF THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES
OF OTHER CITIZENS AND BINDING SAID FUTURE INHAB-
ITANTS BY ALL OF THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES OF THE
SAID CITY.
WHEREAS, a petition for annexation has been duly
signed and acknowledged by each and every person or corpor-
ation having an interest in the followinS described terri-
tory, to-wit:
All that certain lot, tract or parcel of land situated
in Collin CountJ, Texas, in the Francisco de la pina Survey,
Abstract No. 688, and being 47.49 acres out of 50.65 acres
described in deed from W. T. Creel to L. M. Gayler dated
April la, 1924, and recorded in Vol. 249, Page 433, of the
Collin County Deed Records;
BEGINNING at a stake at the Southeast corner of the
said 50.65 acre tract;
THENCE West 1163 feet to a stake at the southwest
corner of the said 50.65 acre tract;
THENCE North 1897.5 feet to a stake at the north-
west corner of the said 50.65 acre tract;
THENCE East 542.5 feet to a stake in the North line
of the said 50.65 acre tract, said stake being at
aninnter corner of 3.90 acres owned by Club Lake;
THENCE South 381.5 feet to a stake at the most
Southerly Southwest corner of the said 3.90 acre
tract;
THENCE East 301 feet to a stake at the southeast
corner of said 3.90 acre tract;
THENCE North l71\2 degrees East 400.7 feet to a stake
in the north line of the said 50.65 acre tract;
THENCE East 200 feet to a stake at the northeast
corner of the said 50.65 acre tract;
THENCE South 1897.5 feet to the place of beginning,
containing 47.49 acres of land, being the property
described in deed from L. M. Gayler and wife to
John L. Bostic, Jr., recorded in Vol. 491, Page
483, Collin County Deed Records.
SUBJECT to an easement from L. M. Gayler et ux to
Texas Power and Light Company, dated November 5,
1936, and recorded in Volume 310, Page 23, Deed
Records of Collin County, Texas.
ALSO SUBJECT to an Oil and Gas Lease from L. M.
Galler et ux to F. A. Gallagher, dated July 1,
1946, and recorded in Vol. 370, Page 547, Deed
Records of Collin County, Texas, and assigned to
Mid-Continent Petroleum Corporation, for a ten
year term.
WHEREAS, said tract of land is contiguous and adja-
cent to the City of Wylie, Texas, and is not more than
one-half (1/2) mile in width; and
WHEREAS, said petition was presented to the City
Council on the 24 day of May , 1955, such date
being not less than 5 and not more than 30 days from the
date hereof; and
WHEREAS, after hearing such petition and the arguments
for and against the same, the City Council has voted to
grant such petition and to annex said territory to the City
of Wylie, Texas;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of
the City of Wylie, Texas:
That the following described property , to-wit:
All that certain lot, tract or parcel of land situted
in Collin County, Texas, in the Francisco de la Pina Survey,
Abstract No. 688, and being 47.49 acres out of 50.65 acres
described in deed from Vi. T. Creel to L. M. Gayler, dated
April 10, 1924, and recorded in Vol. 249, Page 433 of the
Collin County Deed Records;
BEGINNING at a stake at the Southeast corner of the
said 50.65 acre tract;
THENCE West 1163 feet to a stake at the Southwest
corner of the said 50.65 acre tract;
THENCE North 1897.5 feet to a stake at the north-
west corner of the said 50.65 acre tract;
THENCE East 542.5 feet to a stake in the North
line of the said 50.65 acre tract, said stake being
at an inner corner of 3.90 acres owned by Club Lake;
THENCE South 381.5 feet to a stake at the most
southerly southwest corner of the said 3.90 acre
tr ac t ;
THENCE East 301 feet to a stake at the southeast
corner of said 3.90 acre tract;
THENCE North l71/2 degrees East 400.7 feet to a stake
in the north line of the said 50.65 acre tract;
THENCE East 200 feet to a stake Rt the northeast
corner of the said 50.65 acre tract;
THENCE South 1897.5 feet to the place of beginning,
containing 47.49 acres of land, being the property
described in deed from L. M. Gayler and wife to
John L. Bostic, Jr., recorded in Vol. 491, Page
483, Collin County Deed Records.
SUB.TECT to an easement from L. M. Gayler et ux to
Texas Power and Light Company, dated November 5,
1936, and recorded in Volume 310, Page 23, Deed
Records of Collin County, Texas
ALSO SUBJECT to an Oil and Gas Lease from L. M.
Gayler et ux to F. A. Gallagher, dated July 1,
1946, and recorded in Vol. 370, Page 547, Deed
Records of Collin County, Texas, and assigned to
Mid-Continent Petroleum Corporation, for a ten
year term,
be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Wylie,
Collin County, Texas, and that the boundary limits of the
City of Wylie, Texas, be and the same are hereby extended
to include the above described territory within the city
limits of the City of Wylie, Texas, and the same shall here-
after be included within the territorial limits of said
city, and said land and the future inhabitants thereof shall
hereafter be entitled to all rights and privileges of other
citizens of the City of Wylie, Texas, and shall be bound by
the acts and ordinances of said city.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to file with the
County Clerk of Collin County, Texas, a certified copy of
this ordinance.
PASSED by an affirmative vote of all members of the
