ANNEXING OHDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING THE HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED
TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF WYLIE, COLLIN COUNTY,
TEXAS, AND EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF SAID
CITY SO AS TO INCLUDE SAID HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED
PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS, AND GRANTING TO
SAID TERRITORY AND TO ALL FUTURE INHABITANTS OF
SAID PROPERTY ALL OF THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES
OF OTHER CITIZENS, AND BINDING SAID FUTURE INHAB-
ITANTS BY ALL OF THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES OF SAID
CITY .
WHEREAS, A petition for annexation has been duly signed
and acknowledged by each and every person or corporation hav-
ing an interest in the following described territory, to-wit:
All that certain lot, tract or parcel of land adjoin-
ing the Town of Wylie in Collin County, Texas, in the
S.B. Shelby Survey, and a part of a tract of 38.72
acres conveyed to V. B. Gallagher by J. V. Russell
et al December 15, 1916 by deed recorded in Vol. 209,
Page 153 of tne Deed Records of Collin County, Texas;
and
BEGINNING at the SE corner of said tract of land;
THENCE NortH within the East line thereof 10.19
chains, a stake in the south line of the right-of-
way of the St. Louis and 31 By Co;
THENCE in a Southwesterly direction with the South
line of said riqht-of-way to where the same crosses
an inner corner of said tract of 38.72 acres;
THENCE East with the Northern south line of said
tract 8.70 chains to the place of beginning, con-
taining 4 acres of land, more or less,
being the same land conveyed to Ollie Addington
by E. N. Eldridge and wife, by deed dated August
18, 1943, and recorded in Vol. 340, PaGe 606, Collin
County Deed Records.
WHEREAS, said tract of land is contiguous and adjacent
to the City of Wylie, Texas, and is not more than one-half
(1/2) mile in width, and
WHEREAS, said petition was presented to the City
Council on the13 day of June, 1955, such date being
not less than 5 nor more than 30 days from the date hereof,
and
WHEREAS, after hearing such petition and the arguments
for and against the same the City Council has voted to grant
such petition and to annex said territory to the City of
Wylie, Texas;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ORDAINED by the City Council
of the City of Wylie, Texas:
That the following described property, to-wit:
All that certain lot, tract or parcel of land
adjoining the Town of Wylie in Collin Count y,
Texas, in the S.B. Shelby Survey, and a part of
a tract or 38.72 acres conveyed to V. B. Gallagher
by J. V. Russell et al December 15, 1916 by Deed
recorded in Vol. 209, Page 153 of the Deed Records
of Collin County, Texas and
BEGlNNING at the SE corner of said tract of land;
THENCE Nortn with the East line thereof 10.19
chains, a stake in the South line of the right-
of-way or tne St. Louis and SW By Co;
THENCE in a Southwesterly direction with the
South line of said right-of-way to where the same
crosses an inner corner of said tract of 38.72
acres;
THENCE East with the Northern south line of said
tract 8.70 chains to the place of beginning, con-
taining 4 acres of land, more or less,
being the same land conveyed to Ollie Addington
by E. N. Eldridge and wife, by deed dated August
18, 1943, and recorded in Vol. 340, Page 606,
Collin County Deed Records,
be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Wylie,
Collin County, Texas, and that the boundary limits of the
City of Wylie, Texas, be and the same are hereby extended
to include the above described territory within the City
limits of the City of Wylie, Texas, and the same shall here-
after be included within the territorial limits of said city,
and said land and the future inhabitants thereof shall here-
after be entitled to all rights and privileges of other
citizens of the City of Wylie, Texas, and shall be bound by
the acts and ordinance of said city.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to file with the
County Clerk of Collin County, Texas, a certified copy of
this Ordinance.

City Council, this
