ANNEXING ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING THE HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED
TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF WYLIE, COLLIN COUNTY,
TEXAS, AND EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LILMITS OF SAID
CITY SO AS TO INCLUDE SAID HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED
PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS, AND GRANTING TO
SAIN PROPERTY ALL OF THE FIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES
OF OTHER CITIZENS AND BINDING SAID FUTURE INHAB-
ITANTS BY ALL OF THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES OF THE
SAID CITY.
WHEREAS, a petition for annexation has been duly
signed and acknowledged by each and every person or corpor-
ation having an interest in the following described terri-
tory, to-wit:
All that certain lot, tract or parcel of land
situated in Collin County, Texas, Being the
S. 3. Shelby Survey, out of that 4 acre tract
sold to Ollie Addington by E. N. Eldridge and
recorded in Book 340, Page 606, Deed Records
of Collin County, Texas; The Southeast corner
of said 4 acre tract is 1188' South of the North
line of the S. B. Shelby Survey snd approximately
54' West of the East line of the Shelby Survey,
said Southeast corner of a 4 acre tract is in
the West line of Ballard St., and. joins Lot 1,
Block 4 of the Russell Addition to the City of
Wylie, Texas;
BEGINNING at an iron bar set at the SE corner
of a tract herein described, said corner being
1361 North of the 2E corner of said 4 acre
tract in the West line of Ballard St.;
THENCE North with the W line of Ballard St.
90' to an iron bar;
THENCE West with the N line of tract herein de-
scribed 150' to an iron bar;
THENCE South 90' to an iron bar set in the N
line of Ollie Addington land;
THENCE East with said N line to the place of
beginning, and containing 13,500 square feet
of land, more or less.
Being the property described in deed from Ollie
Addington and wife, Emma H. Addington, to G. W.
Pendergrass and Lela Pendergrass, dated May
16, 1955, and recorded in Vol. 500, Page 251,
Deed Records of Collin County, Texas.
WHEREAS, said tract of land is contiguous and adjacent
to the City of Wylie, Texas, and is not more than one-half
(1/2) mile in width; and
WHEREAS, said petition was presented to the City
Council on the 27 day of June, 1955, such date
not less than 5 and not more than 30 days from the date hereof;
and
WHEREAS, after hearing such petition and the arguments
for and against the same, the City Council has voted to grant
such petition and to annex said territory to the City of
Wylie, Texas;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS:
That the following described property, to-wit:
All that certain lot, tract or parcel of land
situated in Collin County, Texas, Being the
S. B. Shelby Survey, out of that 4 acre tract
sold to Ollie Addington by E. N. Eldridge and
recorded in Book 340, Page 606, Deed Records
of Collin County, Texas; The Southeast corner
of said 4 acre tract is 1188' South of the
North line of the S. B. Shelby Survey and ap-
proximately 54' West of the East line of the
Shelby Survey, said Southeast corner of a 4 acre
tract is in the West line of Ballard St., and
joins Lot 1, Block 4 of the Russell Addition to
the City of Wylie, Texas;
BEGINNING at an iron bar set at the SE corner of
a tract herein described, said corner being 136'
North of the SE corner of said 4 acre tract in
the West line of Ballard St.;
THENCE North with the N line of Ballard St. 90'
to an iron bar;
THENCE West with the N line of tract herein de-
scribed 150' to an iron bar;
THENCE South 90' to an iron bar set in the N
line of Ollie Addington land;
THENCE East with said N line to the place of
beginning, and containing 13,500 square feet of
land, more or less.
Being the property described in deed from Ollie
Addington and wife, Emma M. Addington, to G. W.
Pendergrass and Lela Pendergrass, dated May 16,
and recorded in Vol. 500, Pago 251, Deed Records
of Collin County, Texas
be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Wylie, Collin
County, Texas, and that the boundary limits of the City of
Wylie, Texas, be and the same are hereby extended to include
the above described territory within the city limits of the
City of Wylie, Texas, and the same shall hereafter be included
within the territorial limits of said city, and said land and
the future inhabitants thereof shall hereafter be entitled
to all rights and pribileges of other citizens of the City
of Wylie, Texas, and shall be bound by the acts and ordinances
of said city.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to file with the
County Clerk of Collin County, Texas, a certified copy of
this ordinance.
PASSED by an affirmative vote of all members of the
City Council, this the 7 day of July, 1955.
