1957 Ordinance-Annexing & Extending Boundary LimitsANNEXING ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING THE HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF WYLIE, COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, AND EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF SAID CITY SO AS TO INCLUDE SAID HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS, AND GRANTING TO SAID TERRITORY AND TO ALL FUTURE INHABITANTS OF SAID PROPERTY ALL OF THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS AND BINDING SAID FUTURE INHABI- TANTS BY ALL OF THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY. WHEREAS, a petition for annexation has been duly signed and acknowledged by each and every person or corporation hav- ing an interest in the following described territory, to- wit: Situated in Collin County, Texas, in the E. C. Davidson Survey, Abstract No. 267, a part of that certain tract of 39.59 acres of land conveyed to Jick Housewright and Lillie Housewright by Clayton A. Stone and wife, Lena M. Stone, by Warranty Deed dated July 6, 1957, and recorded in Vol. 530, Page 475 of the Collin County Deed Records. Said 39.38 acres tracts is described by metes and bounds as follows, to-wit: BEGINNING at an iron stake at the S.W. corner of said 39.59 acres of land; THENCE East with an old fence line, 994.6 feet to an iron corner post of a chain link fence, said corner being at the S.W. corner of a 0.31 acre tract of land conveyed by deed to C. L. Harper, et ux., by Clayton A. Stone, et ux; said deed is recorded in Volume 408, Page 138, Collin County Deed Records; THENCE North 69.96 feet, to a stake at the N.W. corner of C. L. Harper Lot; THENCE North 89 deg. 45' East, 192.7 feet to a double iron stake set in the West line of a gravel road; THENCE North 0 deg. 38' East, with the West line of said gravel road, 855.9 feet to the S. E. corner of a 0.345 acre tract owned by Fred Christopher and wife, Avis Christopher, as conveyed by Jick House- wright and wife, Lillie Housewright; THENCE North 89 deg. 22' East, 165.5 feet to an iron bar set in the east line of said gravel road; THENCE North 0 deg. 38' East, with the west line of said gravel road, 376.4 feet to an iron bar at the intersection of the east line of said gravel road and the south line of Plano Road; THENCE North 87 deg. 45' West, with the south line of Plano Road, 1197.9 feet to the N. W. corner of said 39.59 acres of land; THENCE South with the west fence line of said 39.59 acre tract, 1457.28 feet to the place of beginning, and containing 39.38 acres of land, more or less. WHEREAS, said tract of land is contiguous and adjacent to the city of Wylie, Texas, and is not more than one-half (1/2) mile in width, and WHEREAS, said petition was presented to the City Council on the 20th day of December,1957, such date being not less than 5 and not more than 30 days from the date hereof, and WHEREAS, after hearing such petition and the argurnents for and against the same the City Council has voted to grant such petition and to annex said territory to the City of Wylie, Texas; NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Wylie, Texas: That the following described property, to-wit: Situated in Collin County, Texas, in the E. C. Davidson Survey, Abstract No. 267, a part of that certain tract of 39.59 acres of land conveyed to Jick Housewright and Lillie Housewright by Clayton A. Stone and wife, Lena M. Stone, by Warranty Deed dated July 6, 1957, and recorded in Vol. 530, Page 476 of the Collin County Deed Reoords. Said 39.38 acres tracts is described by metes and bounds as follows, to-wit: BEGINNING at an iron stake at the S.W. corner of said 39.59 acres of land, THENCE: East with an old fence line, 994.6 feet to an iron corner post of a chain link fence, said corner being at the S.W. corner of a 0.31 acre tract of land conveyed by deed to C. W. corner of said 39.59 acres of land; THENCE South with the west fence line of said 39.59 acre tract, 1457.28 .feet to the place of beginning, and containing 39.38 acres of land, more or less. be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Wylie, Collin County, Texas, and that the boundary limits of the City of Wylie, Texas, be and the same are hereby extended to include the above described territory within the city limits of the City of Wylie, Texas, and the same shall here- after be included within the territorial limits of said city, and said land and the future inhabitants thereof shall here- after be entitled to all rights and privileges of other citi- zens of the City of Wylie, Texas, and shall be bound by the acts and ordinances of said city.
